Kona Competes at BHCA National Convention

Kona competed in the Basset Hound Club of America National Convention in Dallas, TX last week. He was great in the ring, and it was an super experience for both Kona and Mike. There was a total of about 300 Bassets competing at the convention, in confirmation, obedience, agility, tracking and field trials.

Kona, On The Move!

Kona entered the GMSPBHC Basset Hound Specialty show this past June 2008 in Jordan MN, where he won open class for dogs (males), and also won Winner's Dog (best male). He earned two points at this specialty. Below are some excellent photos, courtesy of our friends Ann and Jay Wendt (photographer), who are also Basset Hound owners and lovers.

Kona also earned one point at the St. Croix Valley Kennel Club dog show last weekend, in Lake Elmo, MN. Kona now has 11 points, and needs a major win and a total of 4 points, towards championship status.

Points Update!

Kona had a couple of good showings at recent dog shows. He earned 2 points in Fargo a few weeks back at the Fargo Moorhead Kennel Club dog show, and 2 more points at the Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club Dog Show in Jordan Mn. In each case, Kona took Winner's Dog, and now has a total of 10 points. As Kona says, we'll just keep on tryin'!

Kona earns Tracking Dog (TD) Title!

Kona, with Lori handling, earned his TD (Tracking Dog) title today at the Croix Valley Tracking Club TD test held at Willow River State Park, just north of Hudson, WI.

Kona earns Best of Breed in Eau Claire!

Kona won Best of Breed at the Indianhead Kennel Club Dog Show in Eau Claire, WI on Sunday April 13th. He also won Winner's Dog on Saturday. Kona now has 6 points, with one major win. On Sunday, after winning BoB, Kona competed in the Hound Group truly for the first time. Kona and Mike had a great time showing off.
